I enjoyed watching a man riding a Carabao or working the fields in these modern times. I had a crazy fast Jeepney driver one time, was relieved to survive. I am Lolo to a sweet, funny little filipina that gives me hugs and runs away hahaha. She just turned two years old, she is pure joy 🙂
It's true that some Filipino culture and traditional practices are weird and funny. Examples are never leaving a dining table while others are still eating, never take a bath, never cut your fingernails on Good Friday. Another tradition of the Filipinos is the younger brother or sister should not get married ahead of the elder sibling. There are a lot of long-embraced superstitious beliefs and traditional practices of the Filipinos. Some of these are already in existence long before the colonizers set foot on the Philippine soil. Others are influenced by the colonizers, particularly the Spaniards.
You make learning about your country a pleasure
another good video. your endings are funny
This video was short but informative. You taught in five minutes what took me five years to learn and you even made it amusing.
Wow Pea, some of these were real doozies! Interesting…
Salamat po
Good video and very funny
9:50 that got a GOOD laugh out of me. Westerners base respect off of clout. "Merit" is a word that might as well not exist.😂
😆
We Filipinos are kind and happy person.
Thank you Miss Pea. I find these cultural differences very interesting. I noticed when you interviewed an 18 year old food cashier she always answered “Yes Po”, etc. I assume Po means Ma’am, or a polite, respectful term?
Miss Sweet Pea – thank you for your wonderful video's.
A lot of vloggers speak about how much money is needed to retire in the Philippines .. I would like to speak to a much greater issue that faces all of us ..
Medical costs and care. I am 74 and fairly healthy, but my greatest fear is having a major problem and not being able to get proper care. It is, in fact, the primary reason my wife and I don't move there, even though she is a Filipina and we would love to. This is a dilemma that many retiree's face .. even though I can't afford to retire comfortably in the US, I can't in good conscious retire in the PI either. I would like to see a movement in the Philippines to rectify this situation because it would benefit everyone. For those of us wanting to live in the provinces .. a major medical problem is a killer .. and if the problem doesn't kill you, the money needed will.
i am not an experienced driver, i ride a motorbike in London. Driving a car at Manila was a lifetime experience.
1. traffic is slow. not just because of the rules (20km/h in city, 40 outside) but you cant really accelerate before a damn tricycle or a jeepie comes before you
2 even on a double carriageway with concrete walls at every street the wall is open and you can turn back or cross to the small street opposite.
3. you may think that creates a huge pile-up but the traffic is highly cooperative and everyone gives way if you want to turn. so the traffic goes slow but continuous.
4 every crossing has a traffic warden or more. they help to keep order and look over the mischievous. there is an intersection at Dasmarinas which is on high ground leaving one side stopping on the steep slope at red light. as i am not an experienced driver, it is a real challenge for me. i killed the engine some 4 times with handbrake start. so the warden seeing me fumble runs over to the car and holds it and pushes so i can drive away.
5 no pedestrian sidewalk anywhere. so the street has a diffuse undefined edge
6 random potholes and obstacles pop up anywhere without much caveat. driving at nighttime you really need a sharp eye
despite all these i drove without a scratch and trouble for 10 days
Funny…as usual.
Thank you Pea, I was afraid of acting too affectionate in public. When I meet the one I hope is the one!!
China may have built the malls and they want thier money back quickly.
Would you please make a video on “meeting the parent” and protocol for what the man or woman should do? If you haven’t already done so.
Does The Filipina Pea go to and/or eat at Jollibee in any of her vids?
What a lucky man he will be that gets to catch you and keep you forever 💖
Big Malls in the Philippines are heavily guarded against extremist Islamic terrorism from Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Middle East. The Philippines being a traditional Christian country is an inviting soft target for most Islamist terrorists who love to bomb big Mall cinemas, public metro rails, and buses.
Wow… that's really wild… a few videos back I was wondering about stuff like signs of respect and such… and I had seen before a bit where you had said forget about handshakes and had wondered about basically doing the Mano Po gesture… like… if/when I meet a Filipina and meet her family how do I show respect and I basically figured out Mano Po… I guess it's also because of hearing you mention a general fondness of forehead kisses… so I figured it's a culturally significant region or idk… but now knowing what the gesture is called it brings to mind something called mana… and how there is the mystic idea of the 'third eye' that is often in the forehead so it would be a powerful spot for mana to be sensed… just a correlation I found interesting as I was having it… lol… sounds like ideas are brain babies… lol… or… do people write jajaja in the Philippines..? It's been years since chatting with a Filipina friend I met in some mobile game… wow… almost a decade ago… crazy how time flies…
"We dont want to clean the pooh of your shoe" spat my coffee out I laughed so hard. 😅😂😂
Hubog ka na Pea ?
Pea u are cute and u speak nice, good luck in your projects
Please tell Fritz I want to meet her.
Thank you for convincing me to never go there god bless America
Are you saying Filipina females can be a bit jealous lol
Ha ha ha thanks Pea!!!
I love your videos, but you are so beautiful. Love the dress
could it be the women normally carry a hand bag?
Regarding expensive appliances like washers and drryers, are there rental properties available that have them in the units? If so, what is a general rental price range for a small studio or 1 bedroom apartment in Valencia with all applicances, including washer and dryer, and utilities included? I know you don't know exactly, but what would you expect to pay per month on a long term lease for something like that in Valencia?
Also, does the Philippines have restaurant health inspectors for regular dine–in restaurants? What about water quality inspectors at popular beaches?
It's AWESOME!!! I'm ready to return asap!!!
I think the toys are so expensive because the government taxes the crap out of them.
Part of the price difference, important duty
You shiver my timbers
Love the pirate skit!
I'm familiar with tuba from the time I was stationed on Guam. The alcohol content is widely variable, but it's usually pretty strong. And you will have a heckuva hangover if you drink too much!
But I arrived in Cebu my girlfriend/fiance with her friends were there to meet me and in front of her they stuck their hand out of respect I know but I shook your hand and pulled them in close to give a hug and said where I come from we hug to greet😂… Far as I know I was not in trouble😂
I have a question about toys. In particular, Sex Toys. In Thailand sex toys are illegal. What about in the Philippines? Just curious.
Sounds like the Philippines are an interesting country to experience.. 😉🙂
Why do most of the dating sites show that women in the Philippines do not drink alcohol and yet you and your friends talk about moderate drinking or what I would call social drinking. Please explain on one of your video please.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
"Mine field"!! ..how do you do it? Always packed with pingent puns….
❤️🇵🇭👍🏽
I took a screenshot pic at 9:40 in and I tell people it's my PI girlfriend and this is what she does every time she sees me throughout the day..
I really love your channel. It's preparing me for when I come to the Philippines to see my special Filipina that my aunt introduced me to. My Filipina aunt married my uncle. But anyway good job.
Iam excited to come visit the Philippines, perhaps even get married, before retirement in Philippines or USA
Planning to move also there
They ship the toys to major distribution hubs, then out to lesser distribution hubs, then to their final retail (or warehousing) destination. So that toy will pass PI, only to have to be shipped right back to PI, often using a more expensive shipping company than the Chinese use. Same thing happens (to a certain extent) with fuel in Hawaii.🤦♂
Cultural differences make life more fun! Thanks for sharing some of yours, Miss Pea!
