MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. designated Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella 3rd and Education Secretary Sonny Angara as the country’s caretakers during his trip to Japan this week, Malacañang said Thursday.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Marcos left Manila on Thursday afternoon to attend the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan, where he was expected to promote Philippine tourism.
During his trip, Castro said the President would launch the Philippine Pavilion in the Expo, which started on April 13 and will run until Oct. 13, 2025.
The Philippine Pavilion, themed “Nature, Culture & Community — Woven Together for a Better Future,” showcases the nation’s rich heritage, biodiversity, and creativity. Its woven facade, crafted by Filipino artisans, symbolizes unity in diversity.
“The Philippine Pavilion features our rich culture and beautiful landscapes,” Castro said during a Palace press conference.
