‘Filipino Fest’ is back at Museum of Surrey in Cloverdale

The Museum of Surrey expects big crowds again for this year’s Filipino Fest.
The popular cultural festival has attracted more than 1,500 people in the past and the museum’s expecting another packed house Sept. 12 for the 2026 edition of their one-day event.
“Once again, Museum of Surrey is excited to host Filipino Fest,” Lynn Saffery, museum manager, said in a press release Aug. 13. “It is an honour to work with the Filipino community as they celebrate and share traditions through performance, food, activities, vendors, and music.”
The all-ages, family-friendly celebration of Filipino culture is also free to attend.
According to the release, the festival is for people who are immersed in Filipino culture, those reconnecting with their heritage, anyone experiencing Filipino culture for the first time, and all those in between. The event offers festival-goers a chance to “celebrate, discover, and learn” about Filipino culture.
This year’s event will feature a lengthy entertainment lineup, including: Glisha, The Kuyas, Raffy Swap One, Red Filos, Mabuhay Arnis, and Grupo Ilocano Association of B.C.
“Guests can also enjoy cultural displays, photo opportunities, textile exhibits, children’s activities, artisan vendors, and more throughout the day.”
Filipino Fest will also feature an assortment of Filipino food vendors and food trucks. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to experience authentic flavours from across the Philippines with vendors such as: Cake It Easy, Nanay Kitchen, Dale’s Food Products, Kasalo, and Timplado Filipino Street Food Truck.
SOIL SUPERHEROES
The Museum of Surrey is also encouraging visitors to check out their feature exhibit called “Soil Superheroes,” while they are in Cloverdale. The exhibition is “an immersive, all-ages” show that “raises awareness of soil health and sustainability, critical issues that directly impact food security, climate resilience, human health, and the overall quality of life for Canadians.”
Soil Superheroes ends the next day on Sept. 13.
Filipino Fest runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 12.
