Cignal has expanded its digital offerings with the launch of Cignal Super, a new streaming aggregator app that aims to streamline access to online content for Filipino viewers.
Developed in partnership with India-based content distributor Tata Play, Cignal Super consolidates various streaming platforms into a single app. The service is designed to cater to more than 70 million Filipinos who increasingly consume news, sports, and entertainment on their mobile devices.
The move reflects Cignal’s broader shift from traditional pay TV services to digital media, a transformation that began with its direct-to-home satellite offerings in 2009. Over the years, the company has added IPTV services through a partnership with PLDT and has entered the over-the-top (OTT) streaming space.

Cignal first entered the streaming market in 2019 with the launch of Cignal Play, initially a companion app for its TV subscribers. The app allowed users to stream live TV and on-demand content across various devices. In 2023, it was relaunched as a standalone app, expanding its reach beyond existing subscribers.

That same year, the company introduced Pilipinas Live, a sports-focused OTT platform offering live games, highlights, news, and original content tailored to Filipino fans. By May 2024, Cignal had also launched Cignal Play TV, which enables users to stream live TV channels via an Android box—removing the need for satellite dishes or traditional set-top boxes.
As of 2025, more than 1.4 million Filipinos have subscribed to both Cignal Play and Pilipinas Live.
“Cignal is ready to lead the way, wherever the market goes. Cignal Super is the latest digital innovation from Cignal, and there will be more exciting things to come,” said Jane Jimenez-Basas, president and CEO of MediaQuest and Cignal.
“By continuously adapting our platforms and business models to meet people’s needs, we provide the widest selection of news, sports, entertainment, live sporting events, and interactive experiences to every Filipino, wherever they are,” she added.
Cignal’s digital strategy reflects a broader industry trend, as Filipino consumers increasingly turn to mobile and online platforms for their media consumption. The company positions itself as evolving to meet these shifting habits and deliver content in more flexible and connected ways.
