Filipino-Americans in LA join the No Kings protests vs. Donald Trump’s policies

They admonish other Filipinos to realize that they may soon be on the receiving end of Trump’s ‘bigoted’ policies

LOS ANGELES, USA – The Filipino community in Los Angeles, California are lending their voices to the No Kings protests against what they describe as President Donald Trump’s fascist and anti-democratic policies.

In mid-June, groups of Filipino-American activists demonstrated in Historic Filipinotown to voice out their consternation at military forces swooping in on what they say has been an otherwise peaceful protest.

Coming from different walks of life, the protesters say they are worried about the future of immigrants in the increasingly difficult political climate. They add that the situation is eerily familiar, as it has echoes of the former Ferdinand Marcos Sr. dictatorship.

They admonish other Filipinos, especially those who support Trump, to realize that they may soon very well be on the receiving end of his “bigoted” policies.
