MANILA, Philippines — Social media influencer Mika Salamanca drew attention to a cryptic post on X about “questionable choices of friends,” following viral videos of her with former presidential daughter Veronica “Kitty” Duterte.
The “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition” winner wrote an apologetic note that appeared to address speculation.
“I understand where the disappointment and frustration are coming from and I am truly sorry,” Salamanca wrote.
She added:
“If I can only say one thing about this, I assure you that I stand and will always stand with the people.
Her post did not name anyone, but some followers linked it to the circulating videos showing Mika with Kitty, the youngest daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte. The elder Duterte is facing charges of crimes against humanity and is detained in The Hague.
Salamanca was also among the celebrities who joined the September 21 protests calling for an end to systemic corruption.
In the X post, Mika admits that she herself had “questionable choices of friends” when she was at her lowest.
