Jessica Sanchez secures spot in ‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 20 grand finals

Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez has advanced to the grand finals of America’s Got Talent (AGT) Season 20 after earning a standing ovation for her rendition of JVKE’s “Golden Hour” in the semifinals.

Sanchez was announced as one of the finalists on Thursday, Sept. 18, through AGT’s official social media pages. Joining her in the finale are Steve Ray Ladson, Mama Duke, Micah Palace, Team Recycled, Chris Turner, Sirca Marea, Leo High School Choir, Light Wire, and Jourdan Blue.

“#AGT finale here they come!” the show’s post read. Another highlighted Sanchez’s journey, saying she “came back stronger than ever” following her powerhouse performance.

Known for her wide vocal range and ability to reimagine songs, Sanchez first joined AGT in its inaugural season in 2006 but fell short of reaching the finals. She later gained wider recognition in American Idol Season 11, where she finished as runner-up.

Earlier this season, Sanchez received the Golden Buzzer on AGT, a milestone that coincided with her announcement that she is expecting her first child with husband Rickie Gallardo. The couple is set to welcome their baby soon.
