US-based Filipino concert producer faces legal debacle over debt

Karma strikes back—and how?

Vicente “Vince” Gesmundo, the concert producer accused in 2023 of running off with the talent fees of comedians Pokwang and K Brosas during the Chicago and Las Vegas legs of their “BFF” shows, now faces a major legal debacle.

The U.S.-based Filipino concert producer has been ordered by a United States court to pay over $23,000 (more than P1.3 million) to a creditor, Milagros dela Cruz Llamas, who claimed she was “scammed” by him.

Llamas has also filed a petition to remove Gesmundo from the Filipino-American organization Knights of Rizal New York Chapter, where he currently serves as auditor.

Aside from Llamas, several other individuals — including a physician, a nurse, a business owner, and a community leader — have alleged that Gesmundo owes them thousands of U.S. dollars and has yet to repay them.

Gesmundo’s sweet talk and promises, with this court order, are now seen as part of what appears to be a full-blown deception campaign aimed at extracting money from his alleged victims.

As of press time, Gesmundo has yet to comment on the matter.
