On June 23, Star Cinema finally dropped the teaser for “Meet, Greet & Bye” across their social media platforms.

“NEW MOVIE ALERT,” Star Cinema wrote. “Come together for a family movie that hits close to home… and heals.”

The one-minute teaser featured the voices of star-studded celebrities, including Piolo Pascual, Joshua Garcia, Juan Karlos Labajo, Belle Mariano, and Diamond Star Maricel Soriano, who will portray the household’s matriarch.

While not much has been revealed, Maricel’s voiceover—delivering lines that Filipino mothers are known for—struck a chord with viewers, such as: “Papunta ka pa lang, pabalik na ako!” and “Mata kasi ang ginagamit, hindi ang bibig.”

“Meet, Greet & Bye” will be directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, the genius behind family-centric hits such as “Four Sisters and a Wedding” and “Seven Sundays.” She is also the director of the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time, “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards.

The film will be headlined by Maricel Soriano, a multi-award-winning actress with a career spanning five decades. She is known for dramatic roles in both film and television, which earned her numerous awards, including five FAMAS awards.

Acclaimed actor Piolo Pascual is set to showcase his dramatic and emotional range in this movie, following his recent roles in historical projects such as “Mallari,” “GomBurZa,” and “The Kingdom.”

Joshua Garcia, known for his consistent acting performances through the years with “Unbreak My Heart” and “Un/Happy For You,” is sure to move viewers to tears. Meanwhile, this marks Juan Karlos’s first time starring in a family-centric film, following his recent projects “Lolo and the Kid” and “Ex Ex Lovers.”

Finally, Belle Mariano steps out of her comfort zone as she takes on a tear-jerking role in this film. It’s a strong addition to her growing filmography, following her stoic character in “Can’t Buy Me Love” and her charming performance in “How to Spot a Red Flag.”

While much about the film remains under wraps, director Cathy Garcia-Sampana previously shared in an interview that they aim to create a film that meets “international standards.”

“We always make sure na maganda ‘tong pelikulang ‘to, makakapagbigay tayo ng good values sa mga manonood, at marerepresent natin ‘yung mga Pinoy families, principles, mga world views natin (that this film is well-made, delivers good values to the audience, and represents Filipino families, principles, and world views),” she shared. “We hope to make a one international standard film, ‘yun ang goal (that’s the goal).”
