Of course, to my beloved DTI family, the undersecretaries and the assistant secretaries that are here. They do an excellent job. Actually, the reason why we get a lot of things done is because of my DTI family. So DTI family, thank you for everything that you do for the country. Of course, to the regional directors, of course, good afternoon. And of course, to the media, good afternoon. They continuously cover us and they always make sure that we get our message across. And they’re very patient with us too. So to the media, thank you so very much. And of course, to the SB Corp family, where I’m the chairman, thank you for always giving the MSMEs what they deserve. And of course, to the beloved MSMEs, just continue to dream. There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. And a lot of the big stars now, a lot of the big corporations started as MSMEs.
To our creative Filipino MSMEs entrepreneur with us today, our friends from the media, guests, soon-to-wed couples, and of course, to everyone who made this wedding fair 2025 possible, magandang hapon sa inyong lahat.
How nice it is to be in love. Love is a very powerful feeling that brings out the best in all of us, as love is often called the beauty of the soul. It is truly a pleasure to be here and celebrate this showcase of Filipino creativity, craftsmanship, and love with all of you.
This DTI wedding fair is an extension of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas vision to offer a vital platform for Filipino MSMEs to showcase their talents and to shine. The president wants to make sure that we get the MSMEs out there so their products get known locally and globally.
At the Department of Trade and Industry, MSMEs are really close to our hearts as they are the backbone of our economy. 99.5% of the business establishment in the Philippines is MSMEs and 60% of the workforce is from MSMEs. Of course, the DTI is actually very aggressive in funding all our trade fairs. In fact, all our trade fairs are free. Everybody can join the trade fairs. You just have to go to the DTI and you can get the booths for free. We also encourage a lot of wholesale buyers, retail buyers, and we also do funding and we also make sure that we get everything done for you. So please don’t hesitate to call in the DTI.
We’re here for you. It’s wonderful to see couples embracing personalized celebrations that highlight Filipino culture and our MSMEs are essential in making these moments special. It is also heartwarming to see so many couples brought together by love, commitment, that are joining us today.
As we celebrate these beautiful unions, we also want to strongly encourage all entrepreneurs to leverage the digital tools. We must go digital. It’s the fastest way to get our message across. It’s also the cheapest way. So we must go digital.
That’s also the mandate of our president, is for us to go digital. To all our MSMEs and creative entrepreneurs, you are not just creating beautiful weddings, you are building stronger communities and a more dynamic economy. This is truly worth celebrating.
Before I end, I also want to share this exciting news for everyone. Actually, this is the launch of the 1 billion women’s enterprise fund. We are setting aside 1 billion pesos. SB Corp is an attached agency to the bank under the DTI. And we have a budget of 1 billion pesos for all the women entrepreneurs. So you can just go to actually sbcorp.gov.ph and you can apply.
It’s very easy to apply. All we need is just government ID. There’s no collateral. We have one year of no payment of principal and interest. So this fund is for the women entrepreneurs. So let’s take advantage of this fund.
Of course, aside from this, SB Corp has also a lot of funds for entrepreneurs. You can go to their site and you can see what actually is best for you. This initiative is a testament to our belief in the immense potential of Filipino entrepreneurs, ensuring they have the capital to thrive and succeed.
