While Robi Domingo has been part of ABS-CBN for 17 years, he reaffirmed his commitment to the media giant during his contract renewal ceremony, saying he’s “here to stay.”
During the contract renewal signing, which took place at the “KapamILYa Forever” event on Thursday, Aug. 21, Domingo underscored the importance of loyalty not only in his line of work but also in his personal life.
“Not just in my line of work. Also personal, especially when I got married. Loyalty is one of the top things I value. All the more reason you become loyal is because you believe in the values of what you’re part of,” he said in a media con after renewing his contract.
Domingo currently hosts “Idol Kids Philippines” and “ASAP.” He recently wrapped up his hosting duties for “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab” edition and the 2025 edition of the Miss Philippines Earth tilt.
Touching on his hosting duties for the national pageant and ABS-CBN’s programs, Domingo pointed out that he is also loyal to the entities’ core values.
“I’ve been a fan of Miss Philippines Earth because it’s about beauty with a purpose. [At the same time], to stay with ABS-CBN is one thing, but to believe in its core of being in the service of the Filipino is another,” he said.
“When we tape shows, deliver spiels, [and] do events, it’s not really for the pink slip or the glory. It’s about elevating the standards for the Filipino people. ‘Yung passion na ‘to is especially after everything that ABS-CBN has gone through, especially after the shutdown and the pandemic. I feel like most of the people who stayed. Gan’un ‘yung gigil and grit na maibalik ang ABS-CBN where it’s supposed to be,” he continued.

Since Domingo has been hosting for the media giant’s events for quite some time, he considers himself to be the “Kuya” for its new generation of hosts including Emilio Daez, Shanaia Gomez and Darren Espanto, to name a few.
“ I feel like a kuya, and it’s really a commitment to pass on the knowledge I received from Kuya Luis [Manzano], Bianca [Gonzalez], Billy [Crawford], and Ate Toni [Gonzaga] before, I have a certain drive to [help] them,” he said.
Domingo started his entertainment career as a housemate on “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus,” where he finished as first runner-up. He also dabbled in acting, although he felt that hosting suited him more. /ra
