Toronto-based R&B artist RUSSELL! makes a powerful return with the release of Mother’s Land, his latest cross-cultural collaboration album out today via Public Records.

Following the success of his debut project Dearly Loved and its deluxe edition EL CARIÑO, RUSSELL! expands his artistic vision by blending his soulful, emotionally rich sound with the diverse voices of the Philippines—highlighting a new chapter in his music and heritage.

Mother’s Land brings together a stellar lineup of Filipino artists across genres and generations, including Jay R, MBNel, DENȲ, Because, Illest Morena, and Midnasty. Each artist lends their own unique style to the album’s introspective, genre-bending soundscape, as they explore themes of love, identity, cultural pride, and connection.

“‘Mother’s Land is a tribute to both my Filipino heritage and my late mother, who passed away in 2015. Within this body of work, I collaborated with multiple Filipino artists and producers from many walks of life. My mission is to showcase the wide range of talent from the motherland and bridge the musical gap between North America and the Philippines,’” shared RUSSELL!

The album also features standout contributions from Zae, Paris., Nueve Lio, Denise Laurel, Gat Putch, and Yuridope, further underscoring its mission to amplify the breadth and depth of Filipino artistry. Recorded across Toronto, Manila, and Cebu, Mother’s Land seamlessly weaves together R&B, hip-hop, and island-inspired rhythms, emerging as both a personal memoir and a cultural celebration.

RUSSELL!’s two headline tours in support of Dearly Loved established him as a rising voice in both the Filipino and Canadian R&B scenes. With Mother’s Land, he takes that momentum to a global stage—offering a heartfelt statement that honors the past, present, and future of Filipino music.
