Radio DJ Glenn Ong and Filipino actress Jonica Lazo have gone social media official. Sort of.

The popular local DJ sparked rumours of a relationship last Tuesday (30 Sept) after he posted a photo of himself with his arms around the 25-year-old actress who was in town for the Formula One Grand Prix. At the time, he did not confirm or deny their relationship when asked about it by the Straits Times.

Ong has now confirmed to The New Paper that they are a couple. But it’s not an exclusive relationship and he’s enjoying single life too much following his divorce from fellow radio DJ Jean Danker.

“I’m 55 right now and I’ve always been with someone, and I’ve never been single. Now that I’m single, I have the freedom to really socialise and have as many friends as I like,” he said.

Ong also shrugged off criticism of the 30-year age gap between him and Jonica. “If you put any guy in my shoes, or if those who criticise me were in my situation, they’d love it, right?” he told TNP. “I don’t date 25-year-old women often, and 25 is the lowest age I would date.”
