A Grande Moment: Philippine Coffee Triumphs in Paris
Deputy Chief of Mission Eric Tamayo and Third Secretary Jackielou-Mary Gan received the awards on behalf of the Coffee Heritage Project.
PARIS 18 September 2025 — Carrying three award-winning brands, The Coffee Heritage Project once again made a mark at the prestigious AVPA (Agence pour la Valorisation des Produits Agricoles) Paris Coffee Show on 15 September 2025. From a field of over 200 entries judged through blind taste testing, 85 outstanding coffees were awarded — and Philippine beans stood proudly among them.
SGD Coffee captured the highest honour with the Médaille Gourmet Or (Gold Medal), followed by Tayao Farms, which received the Médaille Gourmet Argent (Silver Medal), and the Madongo Coffee Growers Association, which earned the Médaille Gourmet Bronze (Bronze Medal).
Representing these celebrated producers, the Philippine Embassy in Paris stood alongside them in showcasing the richness of Philippine coffee craftsmanship.
In his address, AVPA President Philippe Juglar acknowledged the presence of the diplomatic corps, underscoring the event as a prime example of how economic and cultural diplomacy go hand in hand.
