Philippine Airlines 3rd USA Cup honors companies late president

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – It was a beautiful day on the green at the Waikele Country Club on Saturday.

More than 150 golfers took part in the 3rd Philippine Airlines USA Cup, Bong Tan Memorial Tournament in honor of the company’s late president.

This is the first time the charity event was held in Hawaii with proceeds benefiting the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii Foundation, which provides scholarships and leadership programs for underprivileged students.

Philippine Airlines marks its 84th year, making it the oldest Asian airline still operating.

It is the only carrier that offers nonstop flights from Honolulu to Manila.

No plans yet for direct flights to the Ilocos region, where the majority of Filipinos in Hawaii are from.
