BUTUAN CITY – Police seized more than PHP4 million worth of marijuana and arrested a street-level drug suspect during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Tawin-tawin, General Luna, Surigao del Norte on Friday night.
In its report on Saturday, Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (SDNPPO) Director Col. Warren Dablo said suspect alias “May,” 29, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, yielded 14 transparent plastic sachets containing marijuana, weighing a total of 3,125 grams and valued at PHP4,375,000.
“The SDNPPO remains steadfast in its commitment to pursue high-value targets and dismantle drug networks across the province,” Dablo said.
He urged residents to actively support the government’s campaign against illegal drugs by promptly reporting illegal activities.
The suspect will be charged with violation of the provisions of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (Alexander Lopez/PNA)
