Just days before the anniversary of her Olympic debut, Filipino American hurdler Lauren Hoffman is back on track.
In an Instagram post, Hoffman shared moments from her recent “lil Euro tour,” which marks her return to competition after overcoming challenges over the past year.
“The comeback has been quite the challenge so far,” she wrote in the caption, “but I’m still so so so grateful for every step of the journey!!!”

Now, a year after her history-making appearance at the Paris Olympics, Hoffman continues to reflect on her growth, not just as an athlete, but as a person grounded in faith.
“One year since my Olympic debut. Forever cherishing those memories in Paris!” she expressed. “To all the people who got me to that point and still support me through the highs and lows—I can’t thank you enough.”
Beyond the medals and milestones, Hoffman shared a piece of her spiritual journey, posting a journal entry from the previous summer that explored the passage 2 Corinthians 12:7–10.

“It applied then and it applies now and I’m sure it’ll apply in the future,” she noted, “because the Word of God really is timeless.”
The journal entry, written in her own handwriting, reflects on the biblical concept of strength through weakness. “The Lord said to Paul ‘my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness,’” she wrote. Hoffman also included personal insights, such as: “God can make great saints out of broken people,” and “The whole point of life is not to be whole/healed/restored, it’s to give off the light of Jesus.”
With both feet back on the track and her heart anchored in scripture, Hoffman’s comeback is not just about regaining form as it’s a nod to her resilience, purpose and grace.
“Here’s to more dreaming, goal chasing, fighting, and inspiring!” she closed.
