Philippine Airlines (PAL), owned by ultra bilyonaryo Lucio Tan, is expanding its nonstop service between Manila and Seattle to five weekly flights starting November 25, 2025, in response to growing travel demand just one year after launching the route.
The Manila–Seattle service, which began in October 2024, is currently the only direct airline service linking the Philippines to the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
The expansion reflects the increasing popularity of the route among travelers, including Filipino Americans, business passengers, and tourists.
Under the revised schedule, PAL will introduce new Tuesday and Thursday departures in addition to the existing Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday flights. This will bring the total to five round-trip services weekly between the two cities.
Flights will be operated using Boeing 777-300ER long-haul aircraft, which can accommodate 370 passengers—42 in Business Class and 328 in Economy.
PAL’s flights are timed to offer convenient evening departures and early morning arrivals, allowing passengers to make seamless onward connections.
“Our decision to increase frequencies to Seattle highlights the importance of the U.S. market to the Philippine Airlines global network…” said PAL president Richard Nuttall. “Seattle is a key gateway not only to Washington and Oregon but to cities across the United States that we can now serve through our ongoing partnership with Alaska Airlines.”
The enhanced frequency will also support growing cargo demand, with up to 40 tons of additional weekly capacity between Manila and Seattle. The expanded service will help connect Philippine exports and other shipments to multiple U.S. states through PAL’s interline airline and trucking arrangements.
Nuttall noted that the Seattle route plays a vital role in PAL’s broader North American expansion strategy.
“We are focusing strongly on developing this growing market to help Americans plan their vacation trips to the Philippines and other Asian countries, open more opportunities for business, and allow Filipino Americans to reunite more often with their families back home,” he said.
With the Seattle expansion, PAL now operates direct flights to eight destinations in North America: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, Guam, Vancouver, Toronto, and Seattle.
