Reston, VA — In a moving musical moment during the Filipino American Cancer Care (FACC) 5th Anniversary Gala, the organization unveiled its first-ever original theme song, “Love is the Cure,” composed by Ilonggo music producer Ronelo Sanchez Ladiao and performed by Velvet Rose Castillano.
The gala, held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Reston, celebrated life, unity, and healing through fashion, music, and advocacy.
With lyrics dedicated to cancer survivors, caregivers, and advocates, “Love is the Cure” reflects FACC’s mission to provide not only medical assistance but also emotional and spiritual support to Filipino and underserved communities battling cancer.
The song serves as more than an anthem; it delivers a powerful reminder that love, kindness, and compassion are essential to the healing process.
Ladiao, a multimedia artist from Iloilo, Philippines, is known for his uplifting work that celebrates Filipino identity and resilience.
His notable compositions include “Lagaw Ta,” a promotional song for the Department of Tourism Region VI, and “Congregation of Hearts,” a musical tribute created in response to the global challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As FACC marks its milestone year, Ladiao’s original composition stands as a symbol of Filipino creativity and the enduring spirit of bayanihan.
The online release of the song amplifies FACC’s message that no one should fight cancer alone—and that love, above all, has the power to heal.
