In his Instagram Stories, the actor reshared photos from the September 21 mass demonstrations captured by independent photographers Geloy Concepcion and Jilson Tiu.

Fans and followers applauded the actor for being aware of the issues that the country faces despite living and working abroad.

“Maraming salamat sa pagtinding, kasama ka namin sa laban,” one fan wrote.

“Thank you for speaking up,” another social media user commented.

Many celebrities and content creators have used their platforms and attended the mass demonstrations on September 21, which demanded accountability from government officials amid alleged ghost infrastructure projects, misuse of public funds, and more.

Similarly, Sophia Laforteza and UNIS’ Gehlee Dangca also took to social media to urge Filipinos to “take a stand” and condemn corruption.

Manny Jacinto is a breakthrough actor who rose to international prominence following his roles in The Good Place, The Acolyte, and the comedy film Freakier Friday.
