MANILA, Philippines—Jessica Sanchez marked a full-circle moment as she won Season 20 of “America’s Got Talent,” two decades after her first appearance on the show. For the Filipino-American singer, the victory was not about one performance, but the culmination of a journey that began when she was a young girl with big dreams.
In a Facebook post shared two days after the finale, Sanchez reflected on her win with joy and gratitude, saying her heart was “overflowing” as she took time to process the milestone.
“I’ve taken the last two days to sit still, breathe, and truly process everything that just happened. My heart is overflowing with joy, gratitude, and a peace I can’t quite put into words,” the former “American Idol” Season 11 runner-up said.
“Winning America’s Got Talent wasn’t just about a single performance or one night… It was about a journey that began over 20 years ago. From a little girl with a dream and a voice that was bigger than her confidence, to the countless auditions, rejections, stages, and moments of doubt along the way… every single step shaped me and prepared me for this moment,” she added.

Sanchez said more than the trophy or title, she believed that God’s timing is perfect.
“This isn’t just a trophy or a title, it’s the reminder that dreams delayed are not dreams denied. That God’s timing is always perfect. That perseverance, faith, and love can carry you through valleys you never thought you’d get out of,” Sanchez wrote. “This victory isn’t just mine, it’s ours. It belongs to everyone who has ever dared to keep going, even when the road felt too long.”
She also dedicated her win to their daughter, who she named Eliana Mae.
“To my family, my friends, and every single person who has supported me through the highs and the lows. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve reminded me why I sing, why I share my soul through music, and why this dream was worth holding onto,” Sanchez said.
Twenty years after being in the semifinals of the first season of “America’s Got Talent,” Sanchez won the 20th season of the talent show on Thursday (Manila time).
