Filipino-American songstress Jessica Sanchez owned the stage during the America’s Got Talent (AGT) quarterfinals with her soulful, powerful vocals—while in her eighth month of pregnancy!
Jessica performed an awe-inspiring rendition of Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” for the AGT judges and audience on September 3.
Actress and AGT judge Sophia Vergara, who previously awarded Jessica a Golden Buzzer, was all praises for the singer.
“Bravo Jessica, that was amazing. I know that you have felt that you have been struggling because of the belly and the breathing and your voice doesn’t feel the same, but that was spectacular and America is loving you! You are the best!” she told Jessica.
Simon also lauded the singer’s persistence and remarked on her “glow.”
“Well, I’m absolutely blown away, because a few seconds ago, before Jessica came out, you know I heard she wasn’t feeling too good, and I said, ‘Look, honestly, it’s your choice, whether you wanna do this or not,’ and Jessica said, ‘No I wanna do this,’” he shared.
“You have such an amazing tone, and not only that, you have this amazing—I call it a glow, right? A glow about you, and people are gonna really like you, I really believe root for you, I’m so happy after all these years on our 20th anniversary you come back. Thank you,” he added.
Additionally, Former Spice Girl Mel B swore Jessica had “never sounded better.”
In August, Jessica celebrated her 30th birthday and is expecting her first child—a baby girl. She first joined AGT at 11 years old.
