Filipino-American powerhouse singer Jessica Sanchez is officially a finalist on America’s Got Talent (AGT) Season 20, after earning strong public support during the semi-finals.
AGT revealed the list of finalists on Thursday, September 18 (PH time), with Sanchez joining Chris Turner, LightWire, Sirca Marea, Jourdan Blue, and the Leo High School Choir in the highly anticipated showdown. The finale performances are scheduled for September 23 in the US, with the winner to be announced the following day after public voting.
During the semi-finals, Sanchez delivered a stirring rendition of JVKE’s hit “Golden Hour.” Her performance earned high praise from the judges. Sofia Vergara, who had given Sanchez her golden buzzer, was ecstatic: “I’m so proud that you are my golden buzzer. You get better and better. It’s perfection. Your voice, your little belly, your story… I’m so happy for you.”
Simon Cowell also described the number as a “moment performance,” adding: “It showed a different part of your voice… Timing is everything. And importantly, you are very, very likable. Everyone I talk to is talking about you.”
Beyond the stage, Sanchez has been navigating an equally emotional journey—she is in her ninth month of pregnancy. On September 15, she shared her gratitude on Instagram: “Today I officially step into my 9th month of pregnancy ✨ My heart is overflowing with gratitude for all the love and kind words that have been pouring in. I truly believe God’s plan is greater than my own. This journey has been so unexpected, yet so beautiful, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
