Jessica Sanchez is now one of the six finalists of ‘America’s Got Talent.’
Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez came back to the international competition America’s Got Talent stronger than ever as she heads to the final round of the contest.
In a post by the reality talent competition, Jessica is one of the six finalists alongside Chris Turner, LightWire, Sirca Marea, Jourdan Blue, and Leo High School Choir to battle it out in the final round.
During the semi-final round, the Filipina singer sang “Golden Hour” by JVKE, which earned praises from the judges, including actress Sofia Vergara who gave the golden buzzer to Jessica.
During the interview with host Terry Crews, Sofia expressed how proud she was of Jessica that she was the international actress’s golden buzzer.
“Jessica, you get better and better; it’s perfection. Your voice, your little belly, your story, I mean, there’s nothing I would change about you, how you do your singing. You’re amazing. I’m so happy for you,” Sofia said.
Mel B, meanwhile, praised Jessica’s voice and range, saying that while it’s magical, her range is very similar to Mariah Carey, describing it as “You can go up, down, around the corners, and you always land on point.”
While the former Spice Girls member shared that she does not know if Jessica’s song choice will affect the audience with her singing, she can see that it has affected the Filipino singer which she deemed is more important.

Howie Mandel, on the other hand, shared that he believed in what her co-judge, Simon Cowell, said that “With the right song choice, you could take this all the way and be the million dollar winner.”
“America is gonna have to decide whether that was the right song choice. For me, it’s just a choice, and hopefully, they love that song more than me,” he said,
However, Simon admitted that he actually liked the song choice, saying that it showed a different part of Jessica’s voice.
“You know Jessica, not only have you challenged it, you’ve never given up over all of these years, and you could’ve done, but you haven’t, you kept going, timing is everything by the way, and importantly, you are very, very likable,” Simon said.
Jessica admitted that she’s very excited to compete in the finals, and also to give birth to her child, who’s due anytime now. The Pinay singer shared that she would talk to her baby and ask her to stay there for one more week so she can compete.
“I’m just so blessed and grateful,” Jessica said.
