MANILA — After weeks of speculation, actors Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto have confirmed that they have ended their relationship.
The announcement came through official statements released by their respective agencies. Star Magic, Anderson’s management, said the two “have mutually decided to end their relationship” and requested the public’s respect, noting that both remain thankful to fans and friends for years of support.
Viva Artists Agency (VAA), which manages Barretto, echoed the confirmation and described the split as both mutualand amicable, adding that the pair had “parted ways for some time now.” The agency cautioned against unfounded narratives, saying recent speculation about the breakup was “unfounded and baseless.” It also reminded the public that only information from Anderson or Barretto should be treated as accurate.
Neither actor has issued a personal statement beyond the announcements made by their agencies. No reason for the breakup has been disclosed.
Anderson and Barretto made their romance public in March 2021, following their 2019 film Between Maybes. For more than four years, their relationship attracted both fan attention and scrutiny, particularly given Anderson’s past high-profile relationships. In June 2025, Anderson denied rumors of a split, saying they were “okay,” making the September 18 confirmation the first official acknowledgment that the couple had parted ways.
For fans, the separation closes a chapter closely followed since the couple went public. For Anderson and Barretto, the statements emphasize their intent to move forward privately and with mutual respect.
