The Neely Mansion Association will host a free Filipino Fiesta on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m., celebrating Filipino culture with music, dance, food and history.
The event will be emceed by Bert Caoili, Fil-Am Radio host and vice president of FILAMCORP. Maricres Castro, a singer, actress and City of Tacoma Commissioner for Immigrant & Refugee Affairs, will perform the national anthem.
Attendees can enjoy cultural dances presented by the Filipiniana Multicultural Dance Troupe, island music, family activities and exhibits, including a Filipino fashion display featuring men’s and women’s evening attire.
Guests can also tour the historic mansion and grounds, which include vintage farm equipment and the 1940s Acosta Shed, built by Filipino immigrant and long-term Neely resident Pedro “Pete” Acosta. The shed will display vintage tools and farm implements used by Acosta, as well as the wine barrel he used to make wine from Concord grapes grown on the property.
Box lunches with Filipino food items will be provided by Catering by Edwin while supplies last.
Organizers say the fiesta is open to everyone and aims to bring the community together.
“All are welcome to enjoy this free celebration of our multicultural community,” the Neely Mansion Association said in its event announcement.
