
SOAN 148 – Introduction to Cultural Heritage
Curious about how food connects us to our roots? Enroll in SOAN 148: Introduction to Cultural Heritage and experience heritage through taste. Taught by Dr. Fernando Zialcita, this 3-unit course offers a deep dive into Filipino cultural identity through a hands-on Tablea Tasting Session, where students explore the rich significance of local cacao and how traditions are preserved through flavor and community. Offered during the 1st semester under the Cultural Heritage specialization (with a minor track available), the course is open to all students—no prerequisites required. Classes are held Monday to Thursday, 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with the venue to be announced.
