Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a new feature allowing residents and visitors to report damaged infrastructure through WhatsApp.
By adding RTA’s official WhatsApp number, +971 58 800 9090, users can access the Mahboub chatbot to report issues such as cracked road surfaces, faded pedestrian crossings, broken traffic signals, damaged bus shelters, and other transport-related facilities.
Through Mahboub, users can capture and send photos directly via WhatsApp, a move RTA said would “streamline the reporting process and encourage the community to take an active role in promptly detecting damages.”
Photos and reports will be forwarded to relevant RTA departments for action, helping maintain Dubai’s infrastructure, cleanliness, and visual appeal.
Meera Al Shaikh, director of Customer Happiness at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, said the new channel reflects RTA’s commitment to public engagement.
“Using WhatsApp underscores RTA’s commitment to enhancing community participation in reporting any damages, while also strengthening RTA’s corporate reputation,” she said, adding that it ensures faster responses to public reports and feedback.
Aside from reporting damages, Mahboub is also available for paying parking fees, checking updates, and accessing customer support.
