The “GMA Masterclass: The ‘Be Juan Tama’ Conversation Series” is a testament to GMA Network’s dedication to its advocacy campaigns and its ongoing partnership with academic institutions to shape a more informed and empowered Filipino youth.
In a continuous effort to engage, educate, and empower the youth, GMA Network is bringing its award-winning “GMA Masterclass” to San Sebastian College-Recoletos (SSC-R) Manila on October 9.
The “GMA Masterclass: The ‘Be Juan Tama’ Conversation Series” will take place on October 9, 2 p.m. at the Bulwagang Diego Cera featuring a powerful lineup of speakers who are hosts of popular infotainment shows: Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes of Amazing Earth, Chris Tiu of i-Bilib, and Asia’s King of Talk Boy Abunda of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
“GMA Masterclass: The ‘Be Juan Tama’ Conversation Series” will focus on GMA’s “Matuto. Matuwa. Be Juan Tama.” advocacy campaign spearheaded by GMA Entertainment that aims to reframe the negative persona of “Juan Tamad” into a positive “Juan Tama” who makes the right choices in the digital age. Through Dantes, Tiu, and Abunda, the event encourages participants to be one in their pursuit of accurate and meaningful information for their mental, emotional, and social well-being. The campaign’s message is further amplified through the partnership with: Anak TV Foundation, National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT), World Wide Fund for Nature-Philippines (WWF-Philippines), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Philippine Entertainment Portal (Pep.ph), and Philippine Women’s University.
Set to entertain the crowd with a performance during the “GMA Masterclass: The ‘Be Juan Tama’ Conversation Series” is The Clash 2024 1st Runner-Up Chloe Redondo. Broadcast journalist Pia Arcangel further keeps the conversations engaging and interactive as the host of the event.
The “GMA Masterclass” series, which has reached over 50,000 attendees over the years, is an integral part of GMA’s commitment to fighting misinformation and disinformation. An initiative of GMA Regional TV and GMA Synergy, the “GMA Masterclass” has already been recognized by various award-giving bodies: “The Most Development Oriented TV Plug” at the “Gandingan 2020: The 14th UPLB Isko’t Iska Multi-media Awards” and the Excellence Award (Communication Training and Education Category) at the 18th Philippine Quill Awards.
“GMA Network is steadfast in its mission to encourage Filipinos to “be one” in their pursuit of accurate and useful information, and we believe this starts with our youth.
