Archie Comics is celebrating Filipino culture with a new limited-edition variant cover of Betty & Veronica, created exclusively for SuperManila Comic Con 2025.
The special cover features the classic Archie trio—Archie, Betty, and Veronica—sharing a glass of halo-halo, one of Philippines’ most famous desserts.
Drawn by longtime Archie artist and writer Dan Parent, the cover is a playful reimagining of the franchise’s iconic “three on a straw” moment. Instead of a milkshake, the characters are seen enjoying a tall glass of halo-halo topped with ube ice cream and barquillos, with Archie taking a bite of one of the crunchy wafer sticks.
The variant is being released in partnership with SuperManila Comic Con, which will be held on September 6 and 7 at One Ayala in Makati City.
“This collaboration is a dream come true for Filipino Archie fans,” said Sandy Sansolis, co-organizer of SuperManila Comic Con. “We’re incredibly proud to partner with Archie Comics to deliver something fun, unique, and a little mischievous with Medusa Doom’s debut.”
Alongside the special cover, the comic introduces a brand-new character to the Archie universe: Medusa Doom, a mischievous, green-skinned villain making her first appearance in Riverdale.
Fans can choose between two versions of the exclusive release: a trade dress variant with standard cover text, and a virgin variant that highlights Parent’s full artwork without any text.
Parent, who has helped shape Archie’s visual style for over three decades, will be attending the convention to meet fans and sign copies of the special edition.
