Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas paid a visit to Senator Risa Hontiveros’ office to share his new project for Filipino farmers.
Hontiveros took to her social media pages on Wednesday, Sept. 3, to give a glimpse of Apl.de.ap’s visit to her office.
In the clip Hontiveros posted, she and the rapper were seen happily mingling alongside the other office staff.
The female senator used Black Eyed Peas’ “Bebot” as the background music for her video. In her caption, Hontiveros shared the reason Apl.de.ap paid her a visit.
“Nakakaproud si Apl.de.ap, mayroon siyang bagong project para sa ating magsasaka (I’m proud of Apl.de.ap; he has a new project for our farmers),” said Hontiveros. “Tutulungan natin siya (We will help him).”

Hontiveros expressed that she was touched that the Filipino-American singer doesn’t forget to look back on his roots.
“Nakakataba ng puso na hindi niya nakakalimutan ang ating kapwa Pilipino, lalo na ang mga pinakabulnerable sa ating lipunan. Mabuhay, APL!” she stressed.
(It’s heartwarming that he doesn’t forget our fellow Filipinos, especially the most vulnerable in our society. Long live APL!)
Earlier this year, Apl.de.ap signed a contract with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) to provide more income opportunities for coconut farmers.
The California-based singer also recently brought his Black Eyed Peas members will.i.am and Taboo to his hometown in Pampanga where they ate Filipino dishes including chicken adobo and sinigang, which were cooked by Apl.de.ap’s mom.
The Black Eyed Peas are best known for their hits including “Where Is the Love?,” “Let’s Get It Started,” “I Gotta Feeling,” and “Boom Boom Pow.” /cb
