MANILA, Philippines — Thirty women-led enterprises are gathered at the outdoor area of Market! Market! in Taguig City from Friday, September 5 to Saturday, September 6, for the second year of the WISE Bazaar, a marketplace dedicated to supporting and celebrating Filipina entrepreneurs.
Bayan Academy, with the support of Wells Fargo, is supporting women-led enterprises that sell a range of food and fashion to handicrafts, cosmetics, homeware, and lifestyle products. More than a shopping fair, the bazaar serves as a platform to recognize and support women entrepreneurs whose creativity and perseverance uplift their communities, with every purchase contributing to the growth of their enterprises and to inclusive economic development.
Among this year’s featured entrepreneurs is Jennifer Lampaz of Magic Hand Enterprise, who has transformed her weaving skills into a thriving business that empowers her as a differently-abled entrepreneur.
Another participant, Kathlyn Kissy Haynes Sumaylo-Pearlman, founded HeritageFinds to collaborate with artisan communities in preserving Itneg heritage through handmade apparel.
From Bulacan, Rowena Garcia brings her homegrown enterprise Blessed Pamana Food Incorporated, known for producing local pasalubong staples such as its bestselling Pamana Peanut Butter.
Cacao grower and chocolatier Jemimah Saquilon of JEM Food Products will also take part, offering premium chocolate made from locally grown beans.
Completing the lineup is Kia Mae Wilson of Flowertale Gift Shop, a full-service gift shop specializing in fresh and dried floral arrangements as well as customized gifts.
These enterprises are part of Bayan Academy’s WISE Project, which equips women entrepreneurs with training, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Many of the participants also completed the GREAT Women Entrepreneurship (GWEn) training program.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality, affirming the role of women-led enterprises in driving social and economic progress.
Bayan Academy, a social development institution founded in 2008, has long been dedicated to empowering communities through training in entrepreneurship, management, and employment, making it a key partner in advancing inclusive growth.
