Jessica Sanchez makes it to ‘America’s Got Talent’ semi-finals • PhilSTAR Life

Jessica Sanchez is now another step closer to winning America’s Got Talent.

The Filipino-American singer advanced to the semi-finals of the reality talent competition, host Terry Crews announced on the show on Thursday, Sept. 4 (Philippine time) as she gained cheers and claps from the crowd as well as the AGT judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Mel B, and Howie Mandel.

She thanked those who have supported her so far in her AGT journey.

“Oh, my gosh. I’m on cloud nine right now. Thank you so much everybody! I appreciate it,” a teary-eyed Jessica said.

Cowell called her “the one to beat,” noting that there’s “something special” about her.

“Well, I agree with everything he said. I think you’re amazing. I’m just concerned that at this point in your life that you make it without giving birth,” quipped Mandel.

Jessica earned the golden buzzer from Vergara in July with her performance of Benson Boone’s Beautiful Things, which advanced her directly to the live shows.

She then impressed the audience and the judges with her powerful rendition of Alex Warren’s Ordinary on Sept. 2—while eight months pregnant.

The Fil-Am singer joined the first season of AGT in 2005 when she was 10 years old, but didn’t make it to the grand finals. She entered American Idol in 2012, finishing as a runner-up.
