Filipino cuisine finds a home in Napa with Carabao’s debut

Filipino cuisine has officially entered California’s wine country with the launch of Carabao, the first Filipino restaurant in Napa Valley.

Led by Filipina chef Jade Cunningham, a culinary talent trained at the acclaimed The French Laundry, Carabao brings elevated Filipino flavors to the heart of Napa.

Among the special guests during the restaurant’s opening weekend was Filipina-American actress and entrepreneur G. Töngi, who joined in celebrating this milestone for Filipino culinary representation.

Carabao’s menu highlights beloved Filipino staples such as lumpia, kare-kare, sisig, and halo-halo, each dish reimagined with Napa’s seasonal produce and premium cuts of meat and seafood.

Töngi praised the team—Eric Gonzales, Mathew, Pati Navalta, and Navalta Media—for their warm hospitality and for creating a dining experience that honors and elevates Filipino culture.

With Carabao, Napa Valley now has a new, proudly Filipino voice in its world-renowned culinary landscape.
