Michael Vindfeldt, the mayor of Frederiksberg, has discussed opportunities for Filipino workers in Denmark’s elder-care sector during a meeting with the Philippine ambassador to Denmark.

Pablito A. Mendoza, Philippine Ambassador, met Vindfeldt on 22 September, with discussions focusing on employment opportunities for Filipinos in elder care and educational initiatives for healthcare workers.

The meeting also covered possible cooperation between Frederiksberg and Philippine local governments, according to the Philippine Embassy in Denmark.

The embassy described the relationship between the Philippines and Denmark as “enduring and deepening”, while highlighting Frederiksberg’s role as a centre for education and public services.

The meeting comes as Denmark faces continuing demand for workers in healthcare and elderly care, making international recruitment an increasingly relevant issue for Danish municipalities.

Further details about any specific recruitment or training programme were not provided by the embassy.
